The importation of potatoes has been temporarily suspended from midnight today in order to protect the local potato farmers, the Ministry of Finance and Planning said.
Deputy Secretary of the Treasury S.R Artigala stated that the decision was taken with the intention of providing local potato farmers with a good price amidst an increase in crops.
