Sri Lankan captain for the World T20 final against India Lasith Malinga says original skipper Dinesh Chandimal still has a good chance of making it to the playing eleven.
Speaking at the pre-match media briefing Malinga said the final eleven will not be confirmed until the surface and the conditions are assessed during the women’s final scheduled to be played before.
He said, “Dinesh Chandimal is a good player and up and coming one. But Lahiru Thirimanne has also shown how good he is. We have not decided on the final team yet. Chandimal still has a good chance of making it.”
When asked who will captain the side on the unlikely occasion Chandimal is selected, Malinga replied saying he would still be marshalling the troops.
